As a Data Integrations Engineer you will be a critical part of our success, since no information retrieval application can work without a solid foundation of customer data. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building robust and efficient integrations into customer repositories of knowledge. These integrations will extract and scrape complex data to generate the underlying data that our AI-powered chatbots will consume. You will need intelligence and creativity to figure out the right way to extract this data, as well as a keen eye for detail and meticulous attention to ensure that the data returned is always correct and timely.

Overview of Responsibilities:

1. Build into existing third-party APIs for file management systems, LMS, CRMs etc. to scrape customer data in a timely, secure and efficient manner.
2. Where no such APIs exist, build a customer integration/scraper onto the user’s data which is robust, efficient and easy to maintain while respecting privacy laws and legal restrictions.
3. Performing QA on any such integrations to quantify the reliability of the system, highlight any known issues and monitor for any potential degradation.
4. Ensure data privacy and security principles are upheld at all stages through best practices of credential management, deployment etc.
5. Keep up-to-date with the latest technologies and methods for data scraping and integration.

Required skills and experience:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
2. 3-5 years of previous work experience in software development: with at least one year working on data integrations, data engineering, web scraping or related fields.
3. Very high level of experience with Python in general and experience with Python web scraping frameworks such as Selenium, BeautifulSoup etc.
4. At least two years experience working with AWS and comfort using AWS in the context of data storage, security/monitoring and credential management.
5. Strong attention to detail and data engineering QA skills: completeness and correctness of data transfers will be paramount.
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with the Machine Learning team, strong project management skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment. Must be able to overlap 1-2 hours with Pacific Time for meetings/check-ins etc.

Desirable skills and experience:

1. Experience working with or building integrations into CRMs, POSs and other workplace tech tools.
2. Familiarity with Python tools for QA and QC such as Pydantic, and PyTest.
3. Experience working with MongoDB to organize data, store metadata etc.
4. Experience working with orchestration tools: in particular Apache Airflow, Docker and AWS Fargate.
5. Familiarity with Machine Learning-based data engineering tools such as video transcription, optical character recognition, automated caption generation for images etc.

Package and other benefits

• Competitive compensation package (Range - Rs. 6 lakhs to Rs. 12 lakhs per year).
• Based on performance on an initial project, the potential to join on a full-time basis.
